Okmetic’s role in this project is to provide its advanced silicon wafer and SOI expertise and to develop and supply tailored silicon wafer substrates to chip manufacturer partners. Main focus of the iRel4.0 project is to improve device reliability utilizing AI-methods and Okmetic’s C-SOI® wafers (Cavity Silicon-On-Insulator) are of particular interest due to long term stability and fill-factor benefits.
Okmetic will study the effects of wafer level imperfections to device reliability and implement AI/ML-methods for inspection data to reach new levels in device reliability. Two industrial pilots targeting reliability enhancements will utilize C-SOI® wafers supplied by Okmetic. Okmetic is the leader of one industrial pilot and contributing to six work packages.
